We are always looking to bring back Montana original varieties. The name says it all. Ken Fisher of Fisher Seeds in Belgrade, MT originally bred Bozeman Watermelon. This is an old timey variety with thick rinds that are great for pickling. The oblong melons have tasty, red flesh with few seeds. The melons size up well, each melon weighing between 10-15 lbs. This is the BEST watermelon. My absolute favorite! The melons were huge, sweet, and beautiful. Easy to grow and produced well. I had many compliments from happy eaters. Would make a great farmer’s market variety. People can’t believe such melons can be grown in Montana, but they can!
