Growing tips:
Carrots prefer a nicely prepared bed, with soil loosened to allow the roots to develop. Seedlings are tiny and can be overwhelmed by weeds, so choose a less weedy spot if possible.
Sowing: Direct sow in early spring for best results. Sow throughout the spring and early summer for later crops.
Germination: 1-2 weeks, sometimes longer. They prefer cool soil, and need consistent moisture during germination.
Spacing: Sow severals seeds per inch, and cover lightly, quarter to half an inch deep.
Thinning: Thin as needed to about 1 per 1-2 inches.
