This lettuce was an original breeding project of Dr. Alan Kapuler of Peace Seeds in Oregon. Strela is a fun lettuce that handles heat. Many seed companies describe the leaves as a star shaped eruption of donkey ear shaped leaves. My daughter and her friends felt the leaves resembled rabbit ears and showcased them on their heads as they hopped around the fields. Original Seed Source: Fedco Seeds.
