Description

Delicious and easy to grow in all seasons. This Japanese traditional leaf vegetable has tender deep green leaves that size up quickly and remain sweet through frost and heat. Delicious young in a salad and mature as stir fry. Heat tolerant and cold hardy, it can be sown in early spring, and in late summer for winter production. It will bolt in summer but all parts remain edible and tasty, and succession plantings can keep you in leafy greens throughout.

Sometimes called ‘mustard spinach’ because it is in the mustard family but the large leaves are glossy and spinach-like. Much more upright than spinach, and without the oxalic acid; also without the spiciness of mustard. Mild brassica flavor. 20-25 baby / 40 days full size
