Description
A short season, dual purpose bush bean that can be eaten fresh as a snap bean or as a dry bean in soups. Prolific producer even under heavy weed pressure and adaptable to cooler soil conditions.
Black seeds. In the bean family, those with darker seed coats germinate better in cooler soils.
An heirloom variety introduced in 1897 by Peter Henderson and Company (as per Seed Savers Exchange).
