Description
An impressively big, mild and delicious globe shaped light yellow semi-sweet onion which grows well in the north. Contrary to common descriptions in our region it keeps through the winter in a cool dry spot until the weather turns warm. At this point it will shoot up tops, which are tender and yummy. It is quite frost hardy. It was introduced in 1887 by David Murray, gardener for the Marquis of Ailsa, at Culzean Castle in Maybole, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Grown by Wild Plum Farm in Dixon, MT. Certified organic.
