Fresh Roots Farm in Polson is one of the least likely farms to grow chili peppers in the field without any season extension. 2016 was a cooler and wetter than normal summer, but nevertheless this landrace chili from high elevation New Mexico ripened to a deep red with spiciness to spare. As a landrace variety, there are varying shapes, sizes, colors, wall thicknesses and spice. Stayed tuned for future varieties that will develop from this pepper such as an orange Jalapeno. Original Seed Source: Wild Garden Seeds. Grown by Fresh Roots Farm in Polson, MT. Certified Organic.
